Beauville: Hand Screened Premier French Tablecloth Collections - Voila!

Elegance both understated and luxurious, Beauville is your answer for the classic table. Setting the standard for flawless handscreened linens for the table and kitchen, Beauville artisans are recognized worldwide for their skill and exquisite products that will last for generations with good care.

Beauville, established in the Alsace region since the reign of Louis XV (two centuries ago), created the prestigious tradition of fine prints on textiles in the forms of table linens: tablecloths, table runners, napkins, placemats, and dish towels. The manufacturer uses only natural fibers of cotton, cotton/linen union, all linen or silk or wool.

When the raw material tablecloth arrives to the factory, it is not immediately screen printed. A process of singeing and bleaching reduces the fine strands and the unpure greases, etc. from being on the cloth surface. The vat dyes are apart of the finishing process to help retain the beauty through washings, dry cleaning, and general uses of the tablecloth.

Screen printing since 1937 has utilized print blocks that have only one color on each block. Each block is soaked in dyes for 1 month. Each screen has only one color. The flawless, Giolitto screens are famous throughout Europe. There maybe as many as 20-28 colors individually screened for each tablecloth. In the grand Alsace textile printing tradition, Beauvill© linens are woven and screened with uncompromising attention to quality and detail. In Ribeauvill©, the finest cotton is woven into a shimmering satin, and precisely screened by masters of the craft.
