Ekelund Master Weavers Since 1692
From Our Family To Yours…an heirloom throw, to be passed down through generations, has been created by the Ekelund family of Master Weavers of Sweden especially for you. You are assured of the finest quality. These beautifully woven throws are available in TWO different collections - the first is Ekelund's traditional 100% cotton throw and the second is Ekelund's new brand GreenClean, new designs in an eco-friendly 50%bamboo-50% cotton throws (soft & light). At Ekelund, they specialize in the cutiing edge interior design trends where textiles and linens present vast possibilities to give a room a new personality.
GreenClean is a new brand for Ekelund wherein products are woven in cotton and bamboo viscose with antibacterial properties. Bamboo fiber has a natural antibacterial property once the product converted into viscose. The prooducts are better able to tolerate moisture and polluted environments, while impeding the development of foul orders and mold spots. These properties remain even after washings. Our new light throws contain these exceptional eco-friendly properties.
A strong tradition – research suggests that Ekelund may be the world’s oldest family run textile business in the world – never prevents them from exploring new was of working, innovative, artistic and beautiful linens designed by outstanding artisans who draw on the ancient, and virtually unknown techniques of using woven boarders to balance and frame the pattern for perfect harmony.
Like the cycle of life itself, age-old creativity comes full circle when it is dusted off and embraced anew.
